BLAST Off to Learning Program

Fall 2022: K-7 BLAST-Off to Learning! Wednesdays, 10am-1pm @ CWEB RC

The "BLAST Off to Learning" program is for students in grades K-7 on Wednesdays from 10am-1pm at the CWEB Resource Center in Union City! We are so excited to continue to offer this fantastic enrichment opportunity for our CWEB students!

 

CWEB BLAST Stats:

14 weeks (2, 7-week sessions) of 3 awesome classes on Wednesdays at CWEB RC, 703 C Street, Union City. 

Maximum of 20 students per classroom.

$240 per student for 14 weeks!

Class dates will be: 8/31 to 12/7 (14 weeks)

• Session 1: 8/31, 9/7, 9/14, 9/21, 9/28, 10/5, 10/12 (7 weeks)

• Session 2: 10/19, 10/26, 11/2, 11/9, 11/16, (holiday 11/23) 11/30, 12/7 (7 weeks)

 

Fall 2022 CWEB BLAST Classes:

 

CLASS 1:  2D (7 weeks) & 3D (7 weeks) Art w/ Heather Sontag

• Student will explore their own creative ideas, build fine motor and develop artistic abilities

• Learn about real world artist, their inspiration and their techniques

• The variety of 2D media will include graphite, color pencil, pastel and acrylic paint and more

• The 3D media will include clay, paper, mixed media and more

 

CLASS 2: Science Enrichment & Drawing w/ Julie Basu

• Make observational style pencil drawings from teacher created drawing notes and photographs of California birds.

• Learn the anatomy and behavior of hummingbirds, owls, pigeons, egrets, and more!

• Students practice their observation skills with VTS style looking exercises that challenge them to think critically and support their observations with evidence from what they see.

 

CLASS 3: Music Foundations A w/ Dandan Performing Arts 

• singing, listening to music, improvisation and moving to music

• music appreciation, evaluating music, music and culture

 

These classes are intended to supplement the student’s curriculum and are not intended to be “stand alone” classes.
